I'm Bard from the Brewery....

Ah, a most misleading title for a blog post.

This won't be the world's longest blog. It's short, simple and sweet. Much like a baby.

I have been appointed as the first ever Bard of The Brewery. It doesn't mean I get to write poems about beer. This is The Brewery shopping arcade in Cheltenham - which houses the cinema, a load of restaurants, and other various lovely things. It also puts on an awful lot of events too and I was privileged to be part of the headlining act for the Cheltenham Xmas Lights switch-on this year, at The Brewery.

So, anyway, yes. A Bard. Officially. Not like those people that say they are Bard but actually just write stuff. I've had the title bestowed upon me like a Scout badge that says "I Wrote Poetry".

Head on over to The Brewery's website this month and you'll see the first challenge. A Christmas Countdown, which is a sort of Poetic Advent Calendar. I've written 24 poems, one for each day leading up to Christmas Eve in December, and these are being posted up as the days tick by.

It's not chocolate but I guarantee it will be just as sweet.

It's Alive!

Finally, bar a few tweaks and embellishments, the website is finished. It's a difficult task, putting your ego aside to try and market yourself in the best way possible. I have found that it's imperative to have an 'author' website since my first novel came out. So, instead of just having one novel listed here and nothing else, I have tried to incorporate all my writing and acting work. That way, other creative types may be interested in hiring me, collaborating with me, or just wondering what the heck I've done to make it worthwhile promoting myself. Well, if nothing else, I'm proud of my chin-beard.

I know this isn't an interesting first blog. I've seen other people's blogs. They are personal and funny and lively and witty and informative and clever and sad and tragic and, in some cases, deadly dull. I'm working my way backwards from 'deadly dull'. Wish me luck!
